Blues Dance - Solo & Partnerwork
Blues Dance is an expressive, musical dance style that comes from the African-American culture of the early 20th century. Century. It is defined by musical interpretation, groove and fine communication with the music and the partner.
This workshop is an introduction to blues dance and is aimed at all those who want to get to know the basics of this emotional dance. Some dance experience is helpful, but not absolutely necessary.
- First part: We start solo to feel the music, find our groove and familiarise ourselves with the typical movements of Blues Dancing.
- Second part: We continue in dancing couples with a fixed partner to get familiar the connection and the leading and following in the Blues Dancing.

Solo Jazz
Dive into the world of Solo Jazz - also known as Authentic Jazz or Vernacular Jazz! This energetic dance style developed in the 1920s and 1940s and is characterised by rhythmic diversity, individual expressiveness and captivating movements.
This workshop is aimed at beginner and intermediate dancers and focuses on:
- Creativity in the movement
- Rhythmic play with music
- The creative combination of at least two solo jazz steps in different ways
After the workshop there will be a joint lunch break on site in the kitchen from 13:30 to 14:30. It will be a bring-along buffet - so feel free to bring something delicious to share!
From 14:30, the day continues with a taster as part of the tea-dance - the perfect opportunity to practice what you have learned in a relaxed atmosphere.
